Inter-Sped (Pty) Ltd
offers shippers the facility of
a dedicated seafreight export department.
The staff employed in the department
have a number of years service in
the industry.
Over the years the company has an
excellent relationship to most of
the major shipping lines serving
South Africa. These connections
allow us to enjoy excellent buying
power from the carriers as well
as enable us arrange favors if and
when the need arises.
We utilise sub contractors for collection
of local LCL cargo. This is then
consolidated at container depots
using the services of NVOCC’s.
For FCL’s we use a combination
of lines carrier haulage / merchant
haulage facilities to move containers
using Spoornet and Portnet facilities
to position containers and deliver
cargo into the port.
Inter-Sped (Pty) Ltd can offer LCL
consolidation services plus FCL
movements to a number of destinations.
We are able to offer shippers the
option of fast conference services
or economy services on carriers
with less frequent sailings and
longer transits. The choice of carrier
will ultimately be decided on by
the shipper.
Our charges for seafreight offer
customers excellent value for money.
The network of agents and the trust
in our agents means that we will
allow freight collect shipments
to be despatched to most parts of
the world.
EDI developments at Inter-Sped (Pty)
Ltd allow the seafreight controllers
to process export documents, wharfage,
bills of lading and supplementary
documentation via one system. These
documents can be printed off a centralised
computer system and processed through
customs and Portnet revenue.
